Stephen D. Smith, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor of Religion at the University of Southern California and the Executive Director of the USC Shoah Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making audio-visual interviews with survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust and other genocides a compelling voice for education and action.

Smith, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor of Religion at the University of Southern California and the Executive Director of the USC Shoah Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making audio-visual interviews with survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust and other genocides a compelling voice for education and action. He also holds the UNESCO Chair on Genocide Education. Stephen founded the UK Holocaust Centre in Nottinghamshire, England and co-founded the Aegis Trust for the prevention of crimes against humanity and genocide. In recognition of his work, Stephen has become a member of the Order of the British Empire and received the Interfaith Gold Medallion.
